Our school, Deirdre Ann Academy (DAA), opened in May 2014, aiming to provide a quality education that will inspire future leaders in Kiryabicooli and Uganda at large. We started with just two grade levels and 41 students in the remote village of Kiryabicooli, Uganda. This year, we launched our completed nursery school (pre-school and kindergarten) and elementary school (P1-P7). We now have 10 grade levels, 11 certified teachers, and close to 400 students. Our nursery school has been recognized as the model school in the district and we’ve partnered with local colleges to train upcoming teachers. We look forward to seeing our UNEB results for our candidate class this November, and help our students find placements at high schools throughout the region.
